3. Project Outline:
Project A: Lyophilized Recombinant Human Luteinizing Hormone Releasing Hormone Exotoxin A of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Fusion Protein(biomissile)
This project is a new biological product of type 1 which is a national important project to surmount in science and technology (subject number:96-906-05-101).It has been applied for the patent ( patent application number:99122205.9) and approved phage I clinical trial (approval number:2005 L00247s).Now it is under phage I clinical trial research. This medicine is a recombined toxin exprssed by the vector, which is constructed by genic engineering method and can express LHRH-PE40 efficiently. It can kill the tumor cells particularly, but no harm to the normal tissues. This product is applicable to the treatment of lung cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer etc. The research and preparation of this product will bring the economic benifit and the social benefit.
There are 4,500,000 above cancer patients currently in our country. It is predicted that This anticancer biomissile will apply to over 1,000,000 patients. and there is not yet of the same kind product in domestic markets. The market has a vast prospect. The expectant annual output is 10,000,000.
Project B: Second Generation Recombinant Human Interleukin 11(IL-11)
This project is a type 9 new biological product. It has been applied for the patent( patent application number: 01110081.8). The second generation recombinant human interleukin 11 is used for the platelet-reducing symptom of the cancer patients resulted from radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Compared with the first generation product, the second one has multi-lack, mutation in its construction, new enzyme site in technique, which reduced production cost greatly and strengthen its stability. The bioactivity is therefore higher than the same kind products. The result of phage I clinical trial expresses that its effective dose descends 90% or so compared with the same kind products. The side effects is decreased greatly too. This project is applied for phage ¢ò clinical trial at present. It is presupposed that phage ¢ò clinical trial be approved in September, 2005.
There are 1,500,000 patients died of cancer every year in our country, and 2,000,000 patients with platelet-reducing symptom resulted from radiation therapy and chemotherapy can administer IL-11. Therefore the market has a vast prospect.
