Jilin Yatai (Group) Co., Ltd was formed on April 19th, 1993, and on November 15th, 1995, was successfully enrolled on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It spent little time over the capital accumulation and start-up stage, which the similar enterprise must spend a long time on, and the total assets have reached 5,200 million after transition mechanisms, capital operation, management creation, structural adjustments and market exploitation. It is a state-run listed company with an excellent reputation.
Now the Yatai Group is formed five backbone industries, real estate, cement manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, securities and trade, and is starting to enter into such fields as communications networks, commerce and trade, hotels etc. With outstanding achievements in its main businesses and effective management, Yatai Group has developed into a large group that enjoyed special support from provincial and municipal government. Since 1995, Yatai Group has gained excellent achievements in the comprehensive annual assessment of listed companies. In 1998, Yatai Group was listed in 28th place among the 100 top-listed companies of China's mainland selected by ‘Asia Weekly? in Hong Kong. In the same year, Yatai's "A" stock was enrolled on the American Stock Exchange as one of the Dow Jones Chinese Composite Index 88. In 1999, it won the title of "Evergreen Tree of the Chinese Capital Market? given by the ‘Security Times? For 2 years in succession, in 1999 and 2000, it won first place among all the enterprises of the "A" group in the assessment of large state-owned enterprises, and was selected by the Jilin provincial government as an "excellent enterprise" in their 9th Five-year Plan period. In 2001, it was listed in 34th place among 100 valuable, listed companies appraised by domestic, authoritative security organizations. In 2002, Yatai Group was listed as one of the composite Index 180 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. In 2003, Yatai Group was awarded one of the 10 top real estate enterprises among listed companies. After an extensive effort, Yatai Group has developed "Yatai's model of management", i.e. taking planning and management as its base, using performance assessment as its reference, putting the auditing system first, finally, using investigation and study as the complement to all other activities. Yatai Group has been designated as a model example for the state-run enterprise reform. Many media such as "Xinhua News Agency" and CCTV have had reports and newscasts about Yatai Group career, and it has attracted much attention from all areas of society.
