He then had a course of 6 chemotherapy treatments. Later in July 2002 he was re-examined in the Second Hospital of WuXi City and it was found that the cancer had metastasised to the lymphatic media sternum. The size of these was about 1.5 cm diameter. The patient then received 4 further treatments of chemotherapy. Due to the extreme age of the patient his whole body was weakened. After every treatment he suffered vomiting, loss of hair and reduction in white cell levels. After the final chemotherapy treatment the patient was too weak to walk and had to stop the treatments.
On the strong advice of the doctor the patient began to take Rg3 capsules. After 2 weeks the patient was feeling much better and had a much improved appetite, better in his spirits and had sufficient energy to walk. After 6 months the metastases of the lymphatic media sternum had been controlled and the size of the cancer remained the same. After continuing the Rg3 treatment for a further year the patients situation gradually improved.
The weight of the patient increased by over 5Kg. The above CT scan shows before (L) and after the treatment (R).
